Back in the spring we could not get what we needed
Back in the spring we were working on a really big job site.
It was one of those job sites that you feel like is never going to be completely finished because it’s so huge and intimidating.
Most people don’t know what that is like, but if you are a construction worker or a contractor, then you probably know. Sometimes it can be very daunting to start at a job site like this one when you know that you have months and months of work ahead of you stretching out to the horizon. You know that you have some job security, at least, but sometimes it feels as if the work itself might not ever be done. Anyway, we were trying to get started on the job site and one of the things that we needed to get a lot of was something called 16 gauge galvanized wire ties. We needed these 16 gauge galvanized wire ties in order to get the foundations poured long before we could even start to work on anything else on the site. Unfortunately for us, the 16 gauge galvanized wire ties that we needed were unavailable from our favorite supplier. We usually get them from the same company because everything that they sell, from rebar wire ties to lashing wire, is American made and certified domestic. Buying from companies that are based and owned here in our own country is very important to us and we knew that our boss was not going to be happy about the fact that he was going to have to find another supplier for our 16 gauge galvanized wire ties.
