Deciding on a vinyl fence for my home

When I purchased my home on the outskirts of Jacksonville, Florida, I was happy about everything except the lack of a fence.

I have both small children and a pair of dogs.

I need a property that is totally secure. I want to be sure the kids and pets can’t wander out and no undesirable visitors can wander in. From stray dogs to solicitors and strangers, a fence creates a clear barrier. I researched different options for materials. While I like the aesthetics of wood, I wasn’t thrilled with the upkeep involved. I ended up choosing vinyl because it’s virtually maintenance-free and especially durable. My location in Jacksonville exposes a fence to UV light, high winds, rain, humidity and all sorts of pests. Vinyl holds up to the elements and never needs to be painted or stained. It isn’t susceptible to carpenter bees, termites or mold and can be easily cleaned with the garden hose. There are all sorts of styles available, including Ranch Rail, Privacy, Semi-Privacy and Picket. Plus, I could determine the height of the fence and color to complement my home. I paid a bit more for a wood grain texture that looks just beautiful. The fence is covered by a manufacturer’s warranty and tested to withstand winds over one hundred miles per hour. While I was reading about fences online, I realized that the quality of materials is only part of a successful project. I needed to work with a qualified professional fencing company to ensure proper installation. After reading lots of reviews and considering several different options, I went with a local and privately-owned company that’s been around for many years. They provided a free quote, got me on the schedule very quickly and did a fantastic job installing the fence.
