I didn't hear the phone ringing in my office(kid in jail)
I was working on a construction project.
- I had two guys with me and I left my phone in the car.
I was working on the foundation for a home. My crew and I were laying down rebar and tie wire to create the strength for the foundation. I did not hear the phone ring the couple of times that it did. I actually had seven missed calls from a single phone number. I did not notice there was a missed call until after I was finished laying the rebar and tie wire. I contacted the phone number and it was for the county jail. I immediately contacted the phone number and I found out that my 16-year-old son was in jail. The officer would not release my son unless he was in the custody of a parent. I could not leave the construction site. We still had some additional rebar and rebar tie wire to set up. I called my sister and I asked her if she could pick up my son. She was busy too, so I had to leave the guys at the work site alone to go get my kids. I made Jack sit in the car the whole time I was finishing up with the project. I didn’t let him use the air conditioner either. He sat in the car in the hot sun with the window down. I know he wasn’t going to bake to death and I really wanted him to think about the fact that he was being selfish by skipping school and vandalizing a building.
